Prof-Martin-Green-UNSW-DSC00589-2The energy industry is currently undergoing an evolution that is underwritten by competition and efficiency. With variable renewable energy resources such as solar energy, wave energy and wind power increasing in levels of efficiency and dropping in price-point, the traditional metrics of how energy companies operate is required to change.

To look at this change within from the perspective of the solar industry OmniChannel Media caught up with a global leader in photovoltaics in Scientia Professor Martin Green from the University of New South Wales. Professor Green caught up with OmniChannel Media’s Editorial Director Matthew Egan to discuss how solar energy is transforming the energy industry as well as how technology within the sector is driving innovation for the burgeoning solar industry.

Professor Green is the author of six books on solar cells and numerous papers in the area of semiconductors, microelectronics, optoelectronics and, of course, solar cells. International awards include the 1999 Australia Prize, the 2002 Right Livelihood Award (also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize), the 2004 World Technology Award for Energy and the 2007 SolarWorld Einstein Award.
