JetBrains has introduced JetBrains IDE Services, a product suite intended to simplify the management of the company’s IntelliJ-based IDEs, remote development environments, and AI-powered coding assistant. The suite also includes a collaborative programming solution.

Unveiled April 9, JetBrains IDE Services is designed to alleviate the challenges of deploying and overseeing IDEs and other developer tools for large organizations, the company said. JetBrains, which is perhaps best known for its IntelliJ IDEA IDE for Java and Kotlin, has positioned the package as “a central hub for all things IDE.”

Five products and services are available in the JetBrains IDE Services suite:

  • IDE Provisioner, allowing centralized IDE management to push appropriate versions and plugins to developers throughout an organization. Besides IntelliJ IDEA, JetBrains IDEs supported by IDE Provisioner include GoLand for the Go language, PyCharm for Python, RubyMine for Ruby, PhpStorm for PHP, WebStorm for JavaScript and TypeScript, Android Studio, and other IDEs.
  • AI Enterprise, providing developers with AI-based productivity features and full control over security, spending, choosing the best-in-class LLMs (large language models), and efficiency measures.
  • License Vault, to automate the distribution of JetBrains IDE licenses for an entire organization.
  • Code With Me Enterprise, providing real-time pair programming for security-conscious organizations.
  • Code Canvas, a self-hosted remote development environment orchestrator.

JetBrains has made JetBrains IDE Services generally available, after previously providing it in a beta form to a number of large customers. The cost of JetBrains IDE Services is largely based on the number of users and the scope of chosen products. Enterprise customers are eligible for pay-as-you-go pricing options.
